Blog of the Week - August 27, 2006
This week’s Blog of the Week is Tricia’s Blogging Away Debt. Tricia is DETERMINED to get out of debt. I admire her for that. When you go to her blog, be sure and check out her debt meter in the upper right-hand corner of her blog. It is impressive to see that she and her husband have paid off over $9,304 of their credit card debt since February 28! That’s awesome!
I also like and respect her for having the self-discipline to quit drinking soft drinks. To learn about her blogging ambition, read her About page.
I can’t wait for Tricia to feel the freedom of NO CREDIT CARD DEBT. Until then, join her on her journey.

(I’m sure that one must go yup-yupping to call it!)
And Searchlight Crusade says that debt is no prank
When mortgage disasters ensue with your bank.
Money and Values makes oodles of senses
When looking far out to retirement expenses.
Taking Control over Money did advise:
“Pay down your debt — you’ll be wiser than wise!”

It’s Prosper.com at its six-month review.
An interesting post here from David Lorenzo
“The present is here! Go forward again-zo!”
Blogging Away Debt has a great thing to do:
Talking ’bout money should not be taboo.
All Tips and Tricks with some money acumen:
New career training for older-er women.
Ask Uncle Bill asked this question — no fooling!

“My loan’s upside-down but I’ll take it in stride.”
No Credit Needed is a leaner and meaner
Credit-card-paying-off no-debt machiner!
The Mortgage Reports from the big Windy City:
“Buy housing puts when the market ain’t pretty.”
And lastly a post is here from F.D. Bryant:
“Pay off your debt and you’ll be self-reliant!”
Well that wraps it up folks! Thank you for coming!
It must have been better than fixing up plumbing
Or hearing Bim-Boom-Bahs incessantly drumming.
If these made you think about matters of cash,
Or financing, debt, or that stock market crash,
Then bring all your thoughts to the MBN Forum
And ask ask away! You certainly won’t bore ‘em.
Everything good must arrive at the end
And I must admit, ’twas a great time to spend
With everyone! Now it is time to cut loose!

Blog of the Week - August 20, 2006
This week’s Blog of the Week selection is Money and Values, a blog written by a 24-year old woman from Chicago. She posts a lot of personal information which is why she chose to blog anonymously under the pen name “Penny Nickel.” As the title of her blog suggests, her goal is to make the connection between money and personal values. In other words, a person’s values should be reflected in their financial decisions. She has her work cut out for her.
So, stop by her blog and read along as she tries to figure it out. You might just learn something about yourself. Oh and don’t forget to listen to her interview with Scott at MoneyBloggerPodcast.

Blog of the Week - August 13, 2006
This week’s Blog of the Week is MakingOurWay. The blog is written by an executive in his late thirties who is married and has young children. His blog details the financial decisions that he and his wife face in preparing for retirement and raising a family. The fact that he is an anonymous blogger allows him the ability to be honest about his finances. I remember a while back he posted his family budget and asked for input. He got it!
The fascinating thing about personal finance blogging is that there are bloggers from all walks of life. MakingOurWay is established financially. His family has a net worth of over $500,000. So, what’s important to him may not be important to someone in their 20s who has a net worth of -$50,000! However, it is still good for the 20-something to read blogs like MakingOurWay to get some inspiration and to realize that within the next decade, they too could have a net worth of over $500,000 (if they make the right choices).
So, go check out MakingOurWay and tell him that JLP sent you.
Blog of the Week - August 6, 2006
This week’s Blog of the Week is udandi and the Craft of Money. I can’t remember how I came across Andi’s blog but I know it was recently. It might have been when I was putting together a carnival or something. Anyway, Andi doesn’t consider herself a personal finance blogger (she doesn’t even talk about IRAs on her blog!). That’s okay, you don’t have to be a personal finance blogger to understand the importance of personal finance. She has been very supportive of the Question of the Day Marathon and will be hosting a question on August 25th.
The reason I’m recommending her blog this week is that I like the fact that Andi is an entrepreneur (read her “About Andi” section to find out more). I love it when someone takes the bull by the horns and does something with their life when faced with difficult circumstances. That right there is reason enough to make her blog the 45th Blog of the Week.
Blog of the Week - July 30, 2006
This week’s Blog of the Week is Financial Freedumb, which is a blog written by an almost 30-year old, living in Hawaii (must be rough!). The fact that he writes anonymously allows him to share his goals and dreams and his progress towards them. He recently changed up the layout of his blog and is asking readers for opinions. To weigh in on his blog’s design, check out this post.
